On another subject, The Wall Street Journal reported on the public uproar surrounding the Blue Mustang sculpture, by artist Luis Jimenez. The sculpture, which is on permanent display at Denver International Airport is being criticized for the fact that the portrayed mustang stallion is rearing up, and gazing at you with orangey, glowing, almost possessed-looking eyes. And, of course, it's blue, making it all the more surreal. Add to all this the fact that the sculpture stands 32 feet high, and the net effect, I could probably surmise myself, is more than a little terrifying. Although I ask myself if it's any more terrifying than the Joe Louis fist sculpture that stands on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit, just as you come out onto the American side of the Detroit-Windsor tunnel. Yeah, welcome to America, motherf**er. None the less, I still believe in freedom of expression, artistic included. Just don't figure there's never going to be any critics.
